Be Fully Present

Dear Friends,

I enjoyed being in practice with you all last week, whether were together in Briarcliff, Dobbs Ferry, Hastings, Sleepy Hollow or White Plains!


I am hoping to spread the word about the Friday evening Yoga class at BIRD in Briarcliff.  This class will be an hour and fifteen minutes.  In this class there will be more time to learn and practice pranayama (breathing techniques) to help the mind come into meditation.  

There will also be time to explore individual poses (postures) at a slightly slower pace, and learn more about holding the postures--that can help build stamina and also give the body and mind time to feel what's happening, while letting go of physical and emotional tension, and using the breath work to help guide you.

Whether new to Yoga or not moving at a slightly slower pace has so many benefits--and I always like to remind you that whatever Yoga tradition you are practicing, relaxation is an essential part of Yoga.  Don't let the mind deceive you that the more Yoga "you do" means more.  Being fully present in what you are doing is Yoga.


Please continue to explore and discover what helps you to stay present and feel content.  BIRD is also offering Chi-Gong on Tuesday evenings, and Zumba on Wednesdays.
