I LOVE teaching Senior Chair Yoga and Body Movement. Like my Yoga mat classes I encourage seniors to move the best they can, bringing awareness to their breath and taking in LOTS of oxygen to stimulate the brain, nourish their insides, and prevent day after stiffness from exercising. I also emphasize it's not how much exercise you do and/or how intense the movement is, but to keep a steady balance of challenge (never a sharp pain) and relaxation in the body & mind so that YOU want to come back every week to either do Chair Yoga or Body Movement, or even better, exercise by yourself for 5-10 minutes a day. Exercise, whether it be Yoga, Body Movement, running, dance etc. is not a quick fix, but saying YES to Life!!
